The experience
A man in a red coat walks onto a stage, sits down at a grand piano, and starts asking questions.
For the length of the show, several hundred children stop being an audience. They answer out loud. The house lights come up so that he can see them do it. Some of them are hearing a piano properly for the first time in their lives.
The piano is live. The performer is alone on stage. Nothing is projected, nothing is recorded, and no child is asked to sit still and admire anything.
Ten years in front of school audiences
This is not a first season.

What it sets out to do
Give a child a first encounter with live classical music that belongs to them, and let a historical figure appear as a person rather than a monument.

Music, history, language and civics meet in the same hour, which is what makes it usable inside an arts-education pathway.
Any school system
Built around an age range, not a national curriculum. It has been performed for school audiences in Argentina and Mexico without adaptation to any single system.
Material for the teaching team, to use before and after the performance, is in preparation and travels with the production.
Accessibility
The performance exists in a version with sign language interpretation.
The interpreter works on stage, in the light, not at the side of the room. Deaf and hearing children watch the same show, in the same place, at the same time.
Why it ends the way it does
A programme does not end with applause. It ends when a child asks a teacher a question nobody had planned for.
Which is why the house lights come up during the show, and why the performer answers children out loud instead of performing over them.

For a school

A different document, for a hall that is not a theatre.
